was born on 3 May 1946. He graduated from the Faculty of History at Jagiellonian University. After finishing his studies, he worked as a secondary school teacher. He began work as a journalist for Życie Literackie
in 1976, and after 1989 he became the co-creator and editor of the weekly Małopolska
, published by the Małopolska regional chapter of the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union Solidarity, and later the editor-in-chief of the first privately run daily, Depesza
. He worked at TVP during the years 1991-1994 and 2007-2012, first as a programming assistant, journalism and news manager as well as representative of the director of local departments at TVP Kraków, and later as deputy director of finance and production at and director TVP Wrocław. From 2001-2005 he worked for the culture and news magazine Karnet
Sabatowski was appointed as a member of the National Broadcasting Council by the President of the Republic of Poland on 12 September 2016.
